The “demand” for Fenavin is, despite the covid, that of the year 2019

During a meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters in Madrid, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, conveyed to the president of the Ciudad Real Provincial Council, José Manuel Caballero, the support of his ministry for the National Fair of Wine (Fenavin), an event to be held in May, for the first time in an even year because in 2021 it was canceled due to the pandemic.

Caballero believes that right now there is “a very important demand for wineries and cooperatives, even exceeding the expectations of what we had raised and at the level we were at in 2019 despite the pandemic.” Meanwhile, these days they are working on everything that involves the assistance of the best buyers.

President Caballero also commented that for the Ciudad Real Provincial Council “the support” of the Ministry for a fair that is recognized by the sector as the great reference of Spanish wine in the world is very important. In this sense, the Ministry of Agriculture “cannot be on the sidelines of an initiative of these characteristics, but has to promote it and has to give us support, especially in the international arena.” Above all because “it is about selling our wine, Spanish wine, from Castilla-La Mancha and Ciudad Real in international markets and doing it with added value so that it has a positive economic impact.”
