In Charlene’s absence. Who is the woman who gains prominence in the life of Albert of Monaco and in the palace?
Exactly one year ago, during the Santa Devota festivities, Charlene made her last public appearance in Monaco. And although there was speculation about the reappearance of the princess (who returned to the principality in November after spending six months in South Africa, where she had to undergo three surgeries for a serious ear, nose and throat infection), she was not present at the celebrations of the Monegasque patron saint . Charlene is still hospitalized in a clinic – presumably in Switzerland – which she decided to enter until her full recovery. “Princess Charlene’s convalescence continues in a satisfactory and very encouraging manner. His recovery, as well as the monitoring of his oral health, will still take several weeks,” they detailed in an official statement on the occasion of his absence.
Without Charlene, Princess Carolina became a great support for Alberto and his nephews, the twins Jacques and Gabriella (7), who were in charge of lighting the flame of the traditional boat during the first day of the Santa Devota festivities, on the 26th at night, in Puerto Hércules. They were also accompanied there by Louis Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb, Estefanía’s children.
The celebrations continued the next day, with a mass in the cathedral of the principality, in which it was surprising that Nicole Coste, the mother of Alexander (18), the son she had with Alberto, was present. Although it is not the first time that she has participated in an event in Monaco, the presence of the former stewardess drew attention to the controversial statements she had made about Charlene a few months ago, which upset the Monegasque head of state. In September, she said that when the former swimmer and the prince were engaged, she had moved her son to a room in the employee area, taking advantage of Alberto’s absence from the palace.
