The Government will approve the pension update for 2022 on Tuesday

The president of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, announced this Saturday at an act of the PSOE in Gijón that next Tuesday the Council of Ministers will update the pensions for the year 2022. Sánchez has highlighted that throughout 2021 and 2022 6,500 million euros will have been invested in the dignity of pensions: “Despite the difficulties and errors, the Government has not rested a single day to improve the dignity of our elders,” he said.

With the data provided by the President of the Government, a minimum pension that in 2017 charged 637 euros, with the model designed by the PP would have charged 642 euros this year, but with the changes that the Executive will definitively approve, it will reach 720 euros per month in 2022.

In the case of average widowhood pensions, they will go to 711 euros, 53 euros more, while an average retirement pension that in 2017 was 1,071 euros, will rise this year to 1,112 euros.
