He shoots his grandson and his daughter-in-law and then commits suicide in Formentera
An 82-year-old man of German nationality shot his 45-year-old daughter-in-law and his 22-year-old grandson this morning in Formentera, and then killed himself with the same weapon. The events occurred around nine in the morning in a house in the area of Can Miquel Martí (Migjorn), in Pitiusa Menor, when the alleged aggressor, a resident of the island, shot his daughter-in-law with a gun, who suffered a slight injury to an upper extremity, and his grandson, who received two gunshot wounds to the right leg and a arm. The old man then shot himself in the head, which ended up causing his death shortly after at the Formentera Hospital, where he was urgently transferred.
The young man, also of German nationality, was stabilized in Formentera to be transferred urgently by helicopter to the Can Misses hospital, in Ibiza, where he remains admitted to a stable floor in gravity, as reported by the Pitiusas Health Area.
In the event, a 45-year-old woman was also injured by a firearm in an upper extremity. It has been considered a minor injury, as reported by SAMU 061.
The events occurred outside the house when the man threatened his daughter-in-law with a gun through the car window when she was about to take one of her children, a minor, to school. Seeing the scene, the 22-year-old, his grandson, went to help the woman and tried to reduce his grandfather who, after escaping, shot him twice. Then, according to investigative sources, the man shot himself in the head.
