What is the meaning of the Wolf Moon?

A new lunar phase took place this monday january 17, when the terrestrial satellite entered its full moon stage. This astronomical calendar event is called Luna de Lobo, a denomination whose roots are in the North American aborigines.

According to data reported by Time and Date, the Moon met Cancer in the constellation and, the satellite lit up 99%. That splendor can also be enjoyed tonight, when the brightness reaches 100%.

To appreciate the phenomenon it was not necessary to use viewers or telescopes, because the eyes of the human being are capable of observing the image with the naked eye, although it will be essential that the sky is clear.

Throughout history, the full Moon was associated with a phenomenon that occurred during the first month of the year in the northern hemisphere. There, in full reaffirmation of winter and when the cold intensified, the wolves went out to hunt.
