They issue an alert for the flooding of the Río De la Plata: it would exceed 3 meters in height
The flood prevention center Naval Hydrography Service (SHN) issued a warning about “floods” during tonight and early Tuesday morning in the Silver river and warned that It could exceed three meters in height.
The SHN, which depends on the Ministry of Defense, pointed out that floods are estimated in the Port of La Plata and in Dock F of the Port of Buenos Aires, where the neighborhood Madero Port, respectively of 2.90 meters, for today, and that rise to 3 meters tomorrow.
At this time, the water level is 1.80 meters above the established values which activated the alert of the Naval Hydrography Service.
He also warned about possible floods for this Monday and tomorrow in the port of San Fernando, where a flood of 3 meters was warned tonight, which is estimated to be 3.10 meters on Tuesday morning.
Finally, the portfolio warned about floods on the Martín García Island of 2.40 meters, with a potential elevation of 2.50, during the day on Tuesday.
If the forecast is fulfilled, there could be flooding in the coastal streets and in different points of the coast of the region.
For this reason, the agency dependent on the Ministry of Defense released a series of useful recommendations to mitigate the effects of flooding: avoid taking out the garbage; do not approach fallen poles or cables; and do not circulate through streets or flooded areas.
