The Best, live: Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski, for the FIFA award

The French press considers that the Polish Robert Lewandowski, from Bayern Munich, is the “great candidate” to win The Best award. The RMC portal summed it up this way: “It could be a consolation prize. A month and a half after leaving Paris as disappointing runner-up to Messi in the Ballon d’Or, he would win the same award.”

Due to differences in criteria and economics, France Football and FIFA chose to continue their award galas separately. For this reason, FIFA reconverted its award and named it The Best. Messi also appears on the list, making them, along with Cristiano Ronaldo, the only two footballers to have won the award in all versions.
