Ximo Puig will maintain the restrictions and the covid passport in the Valencian Community at least until January 31




“We are at a time of great health tension and we must be more prudent than ever.” The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has warned that the peak of the sixth wave of the coronavirus It has not arrived and that, consequently, the autonomous government will persist in its strategy based on accelerating the vaccination of the first doses to children between five and eight years old and the third to the group over forty, which began this week.

In parallel, the Generalitat will maintain at least until January 31 the measures and restrictions before the coronavirus, who go through the obligation to show the covid passport in hotel and leisure establishments, among other types of establishments, the mandatory use of the mask (even outdoors when the safety distance cannot be maintained) and the limit of ten people at tables inside bars, restaurants and pubs.

In the case of opting for an extension of the covid passport, the Generalitat should again request the approval of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV), which to date has always given its approval to the measures proposed to face the pandemic of the Covid-19.

The Valencian Community currently presents an incidence of 2,677 infected with coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants. In this regard, 446 Valencian municipalities are at extreme risk of the spread of Covid-19, according to the latest provided by the Ministry of Health.
