Racing has two more cases of coronavirus in its squad and already exceeds ten

Midfielder Gonzalo cordoba, 21, and the Uruguayan defender Fernando Prado, out of 20, tested positive for coronavirus and added two more cases in Racing, which exceeded ten infections at the start of the preseason. Córdoba and Prado, who are asymptomatic and are already isolated in their respective homes, were the only positives in the batch of swabs that the club did this Saturday for players, coaching staff and assistants before the start of the first training session.

Currently, those recovering from the virus are Federico Insúa (Fernando Gago’s assistant), Carlos Alcaraz, Javier Correa, Gonzalo Piovi, Julián López, Enzo Copetti, Francisco Gómez (youth goalkeeper) and Gastón Maddoni (field assistants).

Eugenio Mena, isolated by close contact, rejoined to training as well as Matías Tagliamonte, the substitute goalkeeper who had tested positive in the week prior to the start of work in the break.

The team that Gago leads will train at the AFA until January 12 and between the 13th and 21st of this month they will continue the preseason at the Tita Mattiussi venue, with accommodation at the Savoy hotel. The Academy, which tries to close the hiring of the Colombian offensive midfielder Edwin cardona (Atlético Nacional de Medellín also wants the former Boca), will play three friendlies, on 22, 26 and 29, with rivals to be defined.
