Government steps to weaken support for Julio Conte Grand

CORDOBA.- The Government tried in the provinces commanded by the ruling party weaken the statement of the attorneys general, which at the weekend expressed their solidarity with Julio Conte Grand, the head of the Buenos Aires prosecutors who was attacked by Senator Juliana Di Tullio in the middle of the upper house.

The efforts headed by the Ministry of Justice of the Nation as of Tuesday they had had limited achievements. Towards night, there was only a public text from the Riojan attorney, Javier Vallejos placeholder image, to distance themselves from the solidarity expressed by their peers.

Vallejos maintained that “one thing is to defend the judicial institution and another, to a single person who already has complaints” and expressed his intention to stop accompanying the Council document.

These statements fell very badly among the attorneys who had promoted the statement. One of them said to THE NATION that Vallejos, in the chat they share and where the document was put up for consideration, had openly expressed himself in favor and that he even celebrated when it was made public.

THE NATION confirmed that the prosecutors of Chaco, Tucumán, Misiones, La Pampa and Formosa “were talking with the Ministry of Justice of the Nation, to come out with a statement that reproaches the inconsistent use of their names.”

That text, anyway, still it was not made public.

The provincial sources They assured that it was the attorneys who contacted the Ministry of Justice of the Nation. But nevertheless, other sources indicated that the steps they departed from the national government, in an attempt to reduce support for what was expressed by the Council of Attorneys, Prosecutors, Defenders and General Advisers of the Argentine Republic and the Federal Council of Criminal Policy, organizations that group all the holders of the Public Ministries of the country.

Different sources consulted by THE NATION agreed that the critical statement of Di Tullio’s statements began to take shape on the Friday 31st in the WhatsApp group shared by the attorneys of the 24 jurisdictions.

The proposal was the text of repudiation and request of “moderation” and “seriousness” which finally met on Monday.

According to some of the participants – among whom there are those who expressly endorse the content and others who do not – at one point it was said that whoever opposed should express it right there because if not, it would be considered that they shared it. A modality that they had already used in other cases.

The text of the Council that remained at the center of the controversy maintains, among other concepts, that “it constitutes an inescapable duty of all to safeguard the democratic institutionality of our country” and that “respect for members of other powers, of all jurisdictions , stands as a vital element of the coexistence, institutional balance and the strengthening of democracy ”.

Among those who deny the document, there are those who argue that by the terms used it seems that there was a “judicial megacause, when no one officially confirmed on Friday if the complaint existed.” The source maintains that he asked that question several times and the answer in the chat was “of course it exists, if everyone said it.”

Kirchnerism tries to displace Conte Grand, who was appointed by María Eugenia Vidal during his government.

Yesterday, the block of Buenos Aires deputies of the Frente de Todos presented a request for impeachment against the Buenos Aires attorney, whom it accused of being part of a “judicial table.”

“What we should have done was to analyze the issue more deeply,” says a prosecutor now, although he admits that it is not “kindergarten children” who participate in the group.
